The role
As a Technical Quality Specialist, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll provide dedicated support to the engineering technical and operational teams in the resolution of product quality and process issues that can affect operational output and conformity.
Day-to-day, you’ll manage and/or support other technical and wider quality processes as required, as well as lead on improvement initiatives to address process inefficiencies and waste within Operations and supporting departments.
1. Provide guidance and support to Technical Engineers on ‘triage’ and other investigations being undertaken with regards to Quality, escalating where required.
2. Review Non-Conforming Material (NCM) responses from suppliers and work with them (and internal stakeholders such as Supplier Relationship Management as required) to identify suitable Root Cause and Corrective Actions
3. Lead the Lean Six Sigma process quality improvement activities as identified through RFC submissions, data analysis and strategic planning.
4. Support (as required) the review of Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) submissions from suppliers as a result of Non-Conforming Material (NCM)
5. Support the Technical Quality Manager in the data analysis and review of internal and external stakeholder performance and escalate where required.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and is based at the DSG Donnington site in Telford.
Essential experience of the Technical Quality Specialist
6. Engineering and/or quality experience, preferably in a heavy equipment maintenance, repair and overhaul environment, low volume automotive engineering or remanufacturing.
7. Understanding and appreciation of Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
Qualifications for the Technical Quality Specialist
8. Completed relevant technical or vocational qualification equivalent to NQF Level 3 (Advanced apprenticeship, level 3 NVQ)
9. Lead Auditor qualified (ISO :) or willing to work towards
