Job Description As Chef Manager, you will be responsible for: Overseeing all aspects of the kitchen, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, and presentation Leading and developing a team of six, ensuring smooth kitchen operations Designing seasonal menus using fresh, locally sourced ingredients Managing stock control, ordering, and food costs to maintain profitability Ensuring compliance with health & safety and food hygiene regulations Building strong relationships with school staff and pupils to enhance the dining experience Qualifications Professional culinary qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Professional Cookery, City & Guilds 706/1 & 706/2, or equivalent) Food Safety & Hygiene Level 3 (or higher) certification Health & Safety certification (e.g., HACCP, COSHH, Allergen Awareness) Experience as a Chef Manager, Head Chef, or Senior Sous Chef in an education, contract catering, or high-volume setting Strong knowledge of menu planning, stock control, and cost management Proven leadership skills with experience in managing and developing a kitchen team Excellent understanding of health, safety, and food hygiene regulations Passion for fresh, seasonal ingredients and high-quality food production Strong financial awareness, including GP management and budget control Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment First Aid at Work certification (desirable) Additional Information Holroyd Howe is one of the UK's leading contract caterers, providing fresh innovative food services solely to independent schools and colleges.
