Job Purpose
To facilitate a service user-focused service to adults with Prader-Willi Syndrome in a well-established residential service on a relief basis. To support the manager and team leaders of a dynamic team to provide a high quality and person-centred service for all who attend. Residents are supported to enjoy new experiences and work on their independent living skills in a safe and nurturing environment.
Minimum Education & Skills Required
1. Third-level graduate, Health & Social care or equivalent is desirable.
2. Minimum requirement of Fetac level 5 in social care or related discipline.
3. Attendance at training as deemed appropriate by the management of the service.
4. Previous experience of working with people with a disability is desirable.
5. An understanding of current regulations and safeguarding adults is required.
6. Good communication skills and the ability to self-direct are also essential.
7. A full clean driving license would be a distinct advantage.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
1. Promote and actively involve in teamwork, creating a nurturing and supportive environment for the service user.
2. Facilitate and implement a person-centered service appropriate to the needs, wishes, and requirements of service users.
3. Provide personal assistance in all aspects of personal care and manual handling, ensuring comfort and hygiene of service users and adhering to safe practice and risk assessments at all times.
4. Assist service users in the taking of medication in line with policy and procedure.
