We are looking for an experienced and strategic Operations Director to join our leadership team. This is a pivotal role, working alongside fellow Directors and Shareholders to lead our change management programme and shape the strategic and operational direction of our practice. You will oversee the day-to-day operations, ensuring efficiency, regulatory compliance, and high-quality client service. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will play a key part in driving the growth and success of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with the firm's mission, values, and growth objectives.
2. Operational Management: Oversee workflow refinement, resource allocation, and technology adoption to enhance efficiency and productivity, working closely with the IT and Innovation team.
3. Team Leadership & Development: Line manage Operational Departmental Managers, set and achieve KPIs, and inspire teams across departments to maintain excellence.
4. Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure adherence to regulatory standards and maintain the highest levels of service quality.
5. Client Relationship Management: Equip teams with the skills and tools to strengthen client relationships, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and retention.
6. Financial Oversight: Collaborate with the financial team to manage budgets, monitor financial performance, and identify cost-saving and revenue growth opportunities.
7. Change Management: Lead and drive change initiatives to improve processes and enhance operational capabilities.
Requirements:
1. Proven experience in a senior operational role, ideally within an accountancy practice or a similar professional services environment.
2. Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate.
3. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
4. A strategic mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.
5. In-depth knowledge of accountancy practice operations, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
6. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
7. A relevant professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) is preferred but not essential.
