Main Duties of the Job
An exciting opportunity is now available at University Hospital Southampton NHSFT for a highly motivated Research Imaging Technician - Senior Clinical Trials Assistant to join our Ophthalmology Research delivery team. You will be joining a friendly and enthusiastic team, working closely with the clinical MDT to lead the way to improved care and treatments alongside developing your career as a Research Imaging Technician.

Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities

We are looking for an individual who is enthusiastic, organized, self-motivated, and aspires to further their career as a Research Imaging Technician. You will have Ophthalmic Imaging experience and full research training will be given; we have an excellent induction and ongoing education programme. You will be involved in all aspects of the research process from study start-up, recruitment, and delivery to study close out. Team-working skills, flexibility, and drive will be required to ensure the success of this post. You will need to have an excellent level of written and verbal communication skills and IT skills. You will work in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, implementing studies to translate scientific discoveries into improved patient outcomes.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* ‘A’ Level/NVQ3 or equivalent in a relevant subject area
* Complete Care Certificate or NVQ3/ foundation degree in Healthcare-related subject
* Evidence of continuing professional development and willingness to undertake further training.
* Degree/ higher education or equivalent
* Experience of clinical research.
* IT related qualifications
* ICH GCP Trained
Knowledge and Experience
* Significant relevant clinical experience in a patient-facing healthcare clinical role
* Experience of data management
* Interest in clinical research
* Ability to work as part of a team, work under own initiative and independently outside the department without direct supervision
* Able to prioritise tasks and cope with deadlines
* An understanding of confidentiality issues
* Ability to work in a large, open plan office where there may be noise distractions
* Willing to travel to various locations in and around Southampton
