Job Title: Community Facilitator for Workshops on Social Connections, Health, and Wellbeing for Asylum Seekers in Croydon

Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Community Facilitator to lead and deliver mental health, wellbeing, and social integration workshops for asylum-seekers and refugees in North Croydon. This role involves facilitating a variety of engaging and supportive sessions aimed at improving mental health, fostering healthy social interaction, and providing essential information on navigating the asylum system.
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct mental health and other workshops, peer support groups, and drop-in advice sessions at a local community centre in North Croydon.
2. Conduct Social Clubs and Educational Sessions for asylum-seekers.
3. Facilitate and provide practical support, signposting, and guidance on housing, employment, and accessing community services, awareness sessions, and creative engagement workshops.
4. Foster a supportive and inclusive environment for asylum-seekers and refugees.
5. Ensure the workshops are accessible and informative, catering to the specific needs of asylum-seekers.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
1. Background in social work, psychology, counselling, or a related field.
2. Experience working with refugees, asylum-seekers, or vulnerable populations.
3. Knowledge of the asylum process and support services available in the UK.
Skills:
1. Strong facilitation and communication skills.
2. Ability to create a safe and welcoming environment for participants.
3. Proficiency in planning and delivering engaging and informative workshops.
4. Sensitivity to cultural differences and the unique challenges faced by asylum-seekers and refugees.
5. Proficiency in Farsi and/or Pashto is highly valued.
