Our Residential Property Department is looking for a qualified Solicitor or Licensed Conveyancer to join the team on a permanent, full-time basis.
Butcher & Barlow is one of the most respected law firms in the North West, and our Residential Property Team is a key part of the business, providing services across all of our locations.
As a member of the team, you will work with experienced and professionally recognised Partners to continue to grow and promote the Residential Property offering.
Our aim at Butcher & Barlow is to build long-term relationships with our clients through trust and respect, underpinning those relationships with a sense of togetherness and a common goal. We work with our clients, not for them, assisting them in making the right decisions.
We collaborate with the same integrity, inspiring confidence in our clients, professional contacts, and colleagues through our team-based approach, progressing matters quickly and efficiently.
Our Bramhall Office has a diverse client base and a range of transaction types. The role offers real career development prospects for the right candidate.
Who we are looking for
Our ideal candidate will have 5+ years PQE, with a proven track record, be self-motivated, and capable of working independently on a day-to-day basis. You will, however, be working within a wider team structure and will benefit from remote support and supervision.
What we expect of you
* The ability to manage your own caseload, including sales, purchases, re-mortgages, transfers of equity, new builds, and leaseholds (flats and shared ownerships).
* Comfort in maintaining and strengthening existing client and professional relationships while helping to build new ones.
* Competent IT skills, including the use of a case management system, and a willingness to learn new technology.
* Thorough knowledge of CQS and all compliance issues.
* An understanding of client care.
* An excellent communicator, both face-to-face and over the telephone.
* Ability to draft and prepare clear and concise documents.
* Able to work accurately under pressure.
* Good time and file management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks.
* An interest in marketing and in developing the Firm’s practice, including attendance at business development events and supporting the Firm’s marketing function.
Competitive salary plus bonus provisions currently based on financial performance and annual consideration for additional discretionary bonus.
Five weeks of annual leave with the option to purchase additional days, and additional holidays accrued after the 5th year of service.
