Job overview
We have an exciting clinical educational opportunity within our busy Emergency Assessment Unit, based at the Horton Hospital to evolve, develop and support our nursing workforce access the emergency care.
Key Aspects of the role:
* To support and facilitate the development of clinical practice, mentors/educators and provide supervision and support structures.
* To assist in the transference and acceptance of governance generated process within the clinical environment.
* To support a learning environment that ensures evidence based practice and the enhancement of service delivery.
* To contribute to the assessment, co-ordination, provision and evaluation of education to meet the learning requirements of staff and students.
* To undertake clinical practice, working alongside staff, demonstrating excellence and providing support, supervision and assessment of competence.
* To support all staff in their professional and personal development.
Main duties of the job
* To contribute to the evolvement and development, via education, of care provision across Emergency Care, working closely with the lecturer practitioners (LP’s), matrons and Senior Practice Development Nurse (PDN).
* To support and facilitate the development of clinical practice mentors/educators and provide supervision and support structures.
* To assist in the transference and acceptance of governance generated process within the clinical environment.
* To support a learning environment that ensures evidence-based practice and the enhancement of service delivery.

Person specification
Qualification
* First Degree in Nursing
* Evidence of relevant post grad education, hold or be working towards a Master qualification
Experience
* Experience in Emergency Care setting (min. 2 years) and/or experience of mentoring and supporting others in practice.
* Experience in band 6/7/ENP role within emergency care and/or previous experience within clinical education.
Personal Skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team. Knowledge of the Code (2015) Awareness of role of mentor/preceptor and educator Evidence of professional development. Credible in multi-disciplinary environment Demonstrates awareness of practice and professional development of staff.
