About the Role
We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to provide high-quality care and support to individuals with learning disabilities and mental health needs. You will play a crucial role in empowering individuals to live independently, achieve their goals, and enhance their quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide person-centred support tailored to individual needs.
* Assist with daily living tasks, including personal care, meal preparation, and household duties.
* Support individuals in developing life skills, promoting independence, and engaging in community activities.
* Encourage positive mental health and emotional well-being through active listening and support.
* Implement and follow care plans and risk assessments.
* Assist with medication management in line with company policies.
* Work collaboratively with families, healthcare professionals, and other support staff.
* Promote social inclusion, advocacy, and access to community resources.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and reports.
* Respond effectively to challenging behaviour using de-escalation techniques.
Requirements
* Experience in learning disabilities, autism, or mental health support (preferred but not essential).
* A caring, patient, and empathetic approach.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-in shifts.
* A good understanding of safeguarding, health & safety, and confidentiality.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (desirable but not required).
* A valid UK driving licence (preferred but not essential).
* Right to work in the UK.
