What you’ll be responsible for
As aMaintenance Technician, you will be responsible for:
1. Carrying out scheduled planned maintenance work on all equipment relating to the DCWW asset base in compliance with company procedures in order to minimize plant breakdowns.
2. Investigating the nature of plant failures and subsequently carrying out repairs as quickly and efficiently as possible in order to avoid interruptions to service and in order to ensure compliance
3. Carrying out like for like installations, refurbishment and assist with commissioning equipment to specification and on time
4. Reading and interpreting engineering drawings of various equipment to ensure correct tolerance and fits are maintained for efficient plant operation
5. Maintaining a general knowledge of the treatment processes and the variations at individual assets to enable an accurate and speedy assessment of problems and their consequential results
6. Inspecting, repairing, installing and testing mechanical and electrical equipment in order to ensure that mandatory legislative requirements are met
7. Actively take part in Risk Assessment, COSHH assessment and all related Health and Safety issues.
8. Carrying out an assessment of spares and materials required to complete work effectively, where necessary ordering additional items via the Supervisor or direct from supplier
9. Implementing and maintaining the Information Management System (IMS) procedures at all times to ISO standard. Keep IMS records to ensure that they are satisfactory for internal
10. and BSI audits
11. Using a mobile device to record all work details and all accounted for time
12. Liaising closely within the Alliance Partnership to ensure that all large capital schemes are implemented effectively and efficiently

* Liaison with NRW/EA Regulators and other stakeholders
About you
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
* A recognised apprenticeship in mechanical/electrical or dual skilled engineering awarded with an NVQ Level 3 qualification or City & Guilds equivalent.
* Full UK Driving license
* Ability to work alone and as a member of a team
* IT literate and experience of Microsoft Office applications
* Practical experience gained in industry to support your apprenticeship and ensure full compliance and adherence to all H&S procedures.

* A full UK Drivers Licence is required
* A company vehicle will be provided
* The successful candidate will be required to participate in a standby rota.
