We are looking to recruit a Head of Service to oversee the Fostering and Children's Service areas within Wrexham. Our client has a well-structured and organized team that is looking to grow their staffing levels. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced and supportive team.
This is a hybrid role
Main duties include:
1. You will be a key member of the Children's Social Care Senior Management team in Wrexham, who have a joint focus on driving forward improved practice, performance, and quality plans across Children's Social Care Services. As well as leading on the Corporate Parent strategic plan, you will engage effectively with key partners and stakeholders on an operational and strategic level, developing key multi-agency partnerships as well as engaging with elected members and senior council officers.
2. You will have proven skills/knowledge in leading and managing people effectively, including employee engagement and take a coaching and reflective approach to supervision to enable others to improve their practice, manage risks, and keep children and young people safe.
3. The Corporate Parenting service has several exciting projects. We have launched our 'Big Ask' in ensuring our children's needs are met from the wider community and recently launched our Special Guardianship Policy. These projects and partnerships across Wrexham are benefiting our children and young people, so it's a great time to join Children's Social Care.
