Behaviour Mentor - KS3 & KS4
The school is an all-through school from primary to secondary, with pupils referred from all boroughs in London and surrounding areas. They have residential accommodation for students onsite and are focused on behavior management and understanding environments. The school employs many staff trained in team-teach behavior management.
The role starts after half term (February) for the right person. The school has made significant progress to ensure accessibility for all students.
They are looking for candidates to work one-on-one and in small groups with students. You must be enthusiastic and possess the knowledge or willingness to learn and train to work with SEND.
The school is located next to Orpington and has on-site parking for staff.
The Role:
1. Plan, deliver, and assess outstanding teaching support and learning using proven methods and approaches that enable autistic young people to learn.
2. Be a class tutor, ensuring pastoral needs are met and establishing excellent relationships with parents and carers.
3. Engage and motivate pupils.
4. Inspire trust and confidence in pupils, colleagues, parents, and other professionals.
5. Build team commitment with colleagues and in the classroom.
6. Promote the wider aspirations and values of the school.
7. Engage in whole school activities as required by the Headteacher.
8. Plan and lead children in off-site enrichment activities.
9. Uphold all safeguarding procedures, including engaging in annual safeguarding training and induction training.
You Must Have:
1. Successful class teaching experience.
2. Experience of working with children with SEN, Autism, ADHD, or SLD.
3. A commitment to ongoing professional development.
4. An excellent knowledge of the specialist curriculum area and how it may be effectively taught.
