Where you’ll work:
Depending on the needs of your business area, we expect hub based people to be in the office at least once a week, and to go to OVO Connection events in-person.
You’ll be assigned to the closest one of our three hub offices, Bristol, Glasgow, or London; unless your role requires field-based work. Each hub has accessible spaces to park your laptop, is designed to inspire people, help them connect and bring big ideas to life.

This role in a nutshell:
You will be responsible for maximising value received from our assets through an optimised and agile stock control strategy that ensures the timely sale to our MAPs. You will manage a small operational team responsible for ensuring that assets are successfully delivered to our logistics partner and distributed to our field engineers in a timely manner in accordance with your stock strategy and for the sale of our installed assets to our MAPs. Accurate data is a pre-requisite for the smooth delivery of your team’s activities and you’ll champion improvements in our data access, handling, storage and reporting.
You’ll ensure that your team can report against our KPIs and you’ll support and manage improvement against the same KPIs, making recommendations for change as necessary to drive additional value for OVO.
We are looking for someone who enjoys working as part of a team, with excellent relationship management skills and who is an inspiring leader. You will need excellent commercial awareness, previous experience working within supply chain particularly Forward Logistics, and excellent data and analytical skills; attention to detail is essential for this role, coupled with the ability to interpret, summarise and challenge data.
A strong understanding of the energy industry is ideal. You will be a highly effective organiser, adaptable to change, with excellent communication skills, and capable of accurately identifying key issues and communicating them across a number of levels and teams. We require you to have a natural ability to influence stakeholders and maintain good relationships.
Your key outcomes will be:
* You will own the service delivery performance for the Forward Logistics aspects of our Logistics partner contracts. Working collaboratively with our partners, you will ensure OVO receives optimum service against key KPIs.
* Creating and optimising the meter mix strategy for OVO’s MAP portfolio. You’ll ensure that SKU management and forward logistics processes are optimised for maximum benefit to OVO and operational delivery by your team.
* You will own OVO’s SKU management strategy, ensuring it is always optimised to meet OVO’s commercial commitments. This will involve:
* Proactively monitoring install performance against our MAP allocation and install forecasts.
* Managing the governance and recommendations for changes to asset availability to OVO Field and partners to ensure best cost per meter sale can be achieved.
* Where stock cannot be optimised for install you will agree contractual mitigation with the wider SRM team; if stock becomes obsolete you will make recommendations for write off.
* Overseeing your team in delivering the monthly accreditation process with our MAPs, ensuring they are targeted with maximising revenue in-month.
* Working with your own team, OVO Field and 3rd party installers, you’ll ensure availability of ancillary smart metering assets, such as Regulators and IHDs, collaborating with OVO Field to make sure there is no significant detrimental impact to install times.
* Assisting pilot teams to ensure pilot assets are appropriately available in OVO Field, and being the key stakeholder within the team for business changes as they relate to Asset Control.
* Supporting and communicating with OVO Field on asset changes, outages or issues while endeavouring to make the asset offering as simple, but as commercially optimised, as possible. Ensuring our messaging aligns with the Field Operational teams.
* Producing regular reporting and analysis to monitor monthly MAP sales, revenue and deferred/Longstop rental costs (including progress against KPIs), Age of stock mix and stocks ‘installable’ status. You will provide reporting for internal stakeholders, to OVO Finance and to our MAPs, adjusting your delivery for the audience.
You’ll be successful in this role at OVO if you…
* Experience of managing forward logistics activities, including strategy development of the same. Understanding of the end to end lifecycle of serialised energy industry assets.
* Highly numerate with experience of interpreting numerical data and advanced Excel skills.
* Project and process mapping and improvement.
* Aware of the commercial impact of decisions with experience of optimising for commercial value.
* Energy industry systems and dataflow experience.
* Report development, analysis and insight.
* Able to make independent decisions even when under pressure.
* Excellent organisation and planning skills, ability to work to deadlines, dealing with changing priorities whilst managing own time effectively.
* Ability to re-prioritise your workload in a fast paced environment.
* Great understanding of data and systems.
* Excellent communication skills and understanding of your audience.

We’ll pay you between £45,000 and £60,000, depending on your specific skills and experience. If your expectations are a little different, have a chat with us!
