Job summary
This post is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Healthcare Support Worker to develop their clinical skills within community hospital clinic locations, as part of the Community Phlebotomy/Ambulatory service.
The post holder will be supported to autonomously run planned clinics for secondary care patients to perform skilled clinical interventions, such as venepuncture, ECGS, clinical observations etc, across multiple community hospital sites.
Here at the Community Phlebotomy/Ambulatory service, we are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual who currently holds venepuncture competency and is passionate about delivering excellent patient care.
This opportunity promotes autonomy and the successful candidate will be supported to run clinics and manage their own patient case load, whilst working closely with the Community Ambulatory Care team to ensure care is safely delivered for the patient.

There is an opportunity of 2 x full time posts (part time hours also considered), this will be to cover multiple community hospital sites that range from Axminster-Tiverton. Travel and access to transport is essential to the role.
Our Senior Healthcare Support Workers (SHCSWs) form an essential and well-respected part of our Healthcare teams across a number of dynamic settings; out in the community, in our acute hospitals or within our Theatres teams to name just a few.
You will be a valued member of the team through our comprehensive training and induction programme and our commitment to learning and development will satisfy even the most ambitious person.
The team The Community Phlebotomy Service is based at Sidmouth Hospital and operates out of multiple community hospital locations, Monday - Friday
This service works alongside Community Ambulatory and the Community outpatients services, therefore there will be an expectation to work across this cluster at times.
