At Marks Consulting Partners, we are seeking a highly skilled Income Officer to join our team. As an Income Officer, you will play a crucial role in collecting rent and service charge income, providing a coordinated and effective income collection service.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to take ownership of achieving and maintaining low levels of current rent and former tenancy arrears. You will work closely with the Income Manager and housing management team to ensure delivery of arrears' targets, maximising income recovery while adhering to legal frameworks and protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake a range of income collection duties relating to rent and service charge income
- Provide a coordinated, flexible, and effective income collection service
- Achieve and maintain lowest possible levels of current rent and former tenancy arrears
- Work with the housing management team to ensure delivery of arrears' targets
Requirements
- Understanding of the legal framework for housing and Pre-action Protocols
- Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of welfare benefits, specifically Universal Credit and Housing Benefits
- Minimum of 2 years' experience working in rent income collection for a housing association or local authority
