Your new role This position is for an experienced teaching assistant who has worked with additional needs in a previous role. You will be supporting a KS1 student on a 1:1 basis five mornings a week. You will be instrumental in integrating the young person into the classroom environment, facilitating and encouraging their participation at a level suitable to their abilities. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to; Supporting the child within a classroom environment Supervising at playtimes and within the classroom Identifying triggers for the student in order to mitigate difficult situations Liaise with the class teacher and other professionals regarding the childs care Feedback to parents/carers on the childs progress Record and monitor achievements Build a strong trusting relationship with the pupil Monitor and support the child's safety, ensuring they do not access unsafe areas or items. Help the child with self-care tasks Implement strategies to manage the child's impulsive behaviours and sensory needs. Work closely with the school's SENCO and other staff to create a supportive learning environment.What you'll need to succeed This is an exciting opportunity to truly make a difference to a young persons life.
