Job Introduction Reporting to the Logistics Manager and working closely with the transport and operational teams, your main responsibility is to ensure that you provide a professional and courteous delivery/collection service of products and equipment to our diverse customer base.

Key Responsibilities
Deliver and collect equipment to/from customers, suppliers and other Vp businesses and load/unload said equipment using lorry mounted crane where applicable, professionally, safely and on time in line with level of competency, ensuring company policies and processes are followed
Ensure Driver regulations are consistently adhered to under the Driver and Vehicle Standard Agency (DVSA)
Conduct a thorough daily defect inspection on the vehicle and crane and record this before any use, clean the vehicle/crane weekly and maintain in a good order
Ensure accurate tachograph records are maintained to include driving periods, rest periods, other duties, etc. and are readily available for inspection
Adherence to site and task-specific Lift Plans prior to any lifts being undertaken
Ensure equipment is loaded correctly, safely and securely restrained
Ensure that all chains, straps and securing equipment including those used for lifting is maintained and safe for use at all times with all defects to be reported immediately
Ensure up to date “in test” certification is available in the vehicle for all equipment used in lifting operations
Greet Customers with a friendly face and helpful attitude ensuring deliveries/collections are made on schedule in a timely manner, inform customers of estimated time of arrival (ETA)
Use of M42 App for delivery/collection schedule and customer signature capture
Ability to identify our equipment and advise of losses or damage, prior to customer signing and take confirmation photos where applicable
Proactively assist with query resolution by taking photos of the load prior to unloading and after loading at our depots, customer sites and suppliers
Requirement for sleeping out on an infrequent basis while delivering or collecting equipment from Groundforce depots, customer sites and suppliers
When it is considered necessary or appropriate by management you may be required to carry out any other duties considered within your skill and competence to assist the smooth running of the business, i.e. working in the depot assisting with operational duties when your vehicle is off the road
What We’re Looking For
Valid full clean driving licence
LGV Class 2 C Licence – Minimum 2 years LGV driving experience essential
Certificate of Professional Competence (Driver CPC) essential
RITB / CPCS / ALLMI / NORS accredited or similar recognised qualification – Minimum 2 years’ experience essential
Slinger / Signaller qualification is essential
Flexible approach to working hours is essential – early starts, late finishes, infrequent overnight stays and occasional weekend work
Being courteous at all times when dealing with customers and the general public and act as an ambassador for the company at all times
Able to speak, read & write the English language to a competent level
Competent Maths skills
Willingness to deliver a high level of customer service and display a ‘can do’ attitude
Ability to complete records, paperwork accurately is essential
Capability to use scanners, PDA’s, tablets and computers
A reasonable level of fitness is required
To be flexible, trustworthy and reliable and have excellent time keeping skills is essential
