MEP Site Engineer\n\nLocation: Uxbridge (5 days per week on-site)\nAccessible by Public Transport: Yes\nWorking Hours: Weekdays\nContract: Permanent\nSalary: Up to £40,000 + Comprehensive Package including:\n\nGross Travel Allowance (~£4,000) for a net £3,000 travelcard\n\n15% Pension Contribution (6% Employee, 9% Employer)\n\nAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an MEP Site Engineer to oversee and manage mechanical, electrical, and public health (MEP) works on a key infrastructure project. Reporting to the MEP Delivery Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of high-quality works in line with project requirements.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nHealth, Safety & Environmental Responsibilities:\n\nProactively engage in Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance, ensuring all works are executed in accordance with legal and project-specific requirements.\n\nWork closely with the supply chain workforce to maintain high safety standards and implement corrective actions where necessary.\n\nEnsure all subcontractors and suppliers adhere to health, safety, and environmental policies.\n\nQuality & Technical Compliance:\n\nIdentify and manage quality risks, ensuring all works comply with contract specifications.\n\nConduct installation and commissioning inspections, identifying and resolving snags and defects.\n\nProvide engineering support for subcontractors, suppliers, and external stakeholders.\n\nDevelop and review subcontract design and construction methodologies, ensuring compliance with best practices.\n\nLiaise internally with Project Managers, Design Teams, QA Teams, and Cost Control.\n\nCoordinate works with temporary site services teams and relevant Rail Systems personnel.\n\nDelivery & Programme Management:\n\nPrepare for and oversee the delivery of works, including resources, procurement, consents, and pre-start documentation.\n\nWork closely with the Asset Lead, MEP Delivery Manager, and delivery teams to integrate works into the broader project programme.\n\nMaintain detailed site records, including daily diaries and progress reports.\n\nIdentify and implement MEP efficiencies and opportunities at each project stage.\n\nCommercial & Contractual Management:\n\nDevelop site-specific programmes, monitor productivity, and report any deviations.\n\nEnsure subcontractors meet contractual and technical requirements.\n\nMaintain full and accurate records of changes, variations, and work-related discussions with key stakeholders.\n\nCommunicate with Project Managers, QA, and QS teams regarding any non-conformances or client instructions.\n\nQualifications & Skills:\n\nEssential:\n\nProven experience in delivering MEP systems, including design, construction, testing, commissioning, and handover.\n\nDegree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or a related subject).\n\nStrong knowledge of construction techniques, sequencing, and best practices.\n\nExperience working with NEC construction contracts.\n\nAbility to work independently and collaboratively within integrated project teams.\n\nProficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Document Control Systems, and AutoCAD.\n\nExcellent communication skills, with the ability to adapt messaging to different audiences.\n\nRelevant CSCS Card.\n\nSMSTS/SSSTS certification.\n\nKey Attributes:\n\nThe ideal candidate will be highly organised, detail-oriented, and proactive, with strong problem-solving skills.
