Job Description:
Sulzer is a global leader in delivering innovative parts and maintenance solutions for rotating equipment, with over 100 service sites worldwide. As we expand our steam turbine and compressor business in mainland UK, we are looking for an experienced Technical Field Authority to join our team and play a key role in our growth strategy.
You'll be part of a forward-thinking team dedicated to excellence and innovation. As a Technical Field Authority, you'll have the opportunity to lead and drive success in a highly technical and rewarding environment.
Your main tasks and responsibilities:
1. Assess prospective job opportunities, develop detailed work scope specifications, and outline project timelines and resource requirements.
2. Supervise field service personnel and subcontractors on-site, ensuring safety, task assignment, and quality control during dismantling, inspection, and reassembly activities.
3. Liaise daily with clients, providing progress updates, technical recommendations and adapting the planned workscope to accommodate emergent findings.
4. Ensuring compliance with inspection requirements and project schedules.
5. Coordinate with Project Manager and other stakeholders to support tender cost creation, manage equipment and tooling supply and mitigate potential program impacts.
6. Lead site teams with hands-on involvement in inspection work, rebuild activities equipment start-up and re-commissioning - both on-site and in workshops.
7. Prepare and finalize all project documentation, including reports, QA packs, and recommended spares lists in collaboration with the Project Manager.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
1. Proven experience in a Technical Field Authority or similar field supervisory role, managing both client and site teams.
2. Expertise in turbo services, steam turbines, or multistage compression equipment, including dismantling, repair, reassembly and re-commissioning.
3. Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
4. Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) for work preparation, reporting, data recording, and program management.
6. Good understanding of the UK turbo services supply chain to support on-site and in-works service repair activities.
