Job Description Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to develop your career as a Building Standards Surveyor in a dynamic Building Standards Team? As part of our team, you will have a key role helping deliver and develop the Building Standards service in West Dunbartonshire. What you’ll do: The post covers all aspects of Building Standards including verification of applications, sustainable construction, undertaking site inspections, ensuring the health, safety and welfare of people in and around buildings, providing consultations to licensing and taking enforcement action where necessary. You will primarily deal with a caseload of Building Warrant and related consents, with particular responsibility for applications in relation to domestic and simple non-domestic applications. You will be able to travel across West Dunbartonshire for site inspections. You will have the opportunity to work closely with more experienced colleagues to gain experience on more complex applications and developing service delivery. As part of a small team, it is essential that you share our positive, "can-do" ethos and a willingness to be helpful to both colleagues and customers. What you’ll need: You should hold a relevant Building Standards or related qualification: e.g. BSc, or have evidence of professional competence and expertise gained through experience working in Building Standards. Relevant experience in a related discipline that demonstrates a clear understanding of the work undertaken by Building Standards may also be considered.
