Salary: £39,000 - £46,000 (Dependent on experience) + Benefits
iO Associates are working with a leading energy provider to recruit a Process Safety Advisor. This is an exciting opportunity for a safety-focused professional to make a real impact, ensuring process safety compliance and driving continuous improvement across multiple operational sites.
About the Role:
As a Process Safety Advisor, you will play a key role in monitoring and auditing operational sites to ensure compliance with Process Safety Policies, Cal Specs, and industry regulations. You will work closely with site managers, providing expert guidance on safety improvements and helping to foster a strong safety culture.
A core part of your role will be leading process safety audits, hazard studies (HAZOP, SWIFT), incident investigations, and training initiatives, as well as liaising with regulatory bodies and emergency services to maintain the highest safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct and lead process safety audits, ensuring compliance with safety standards and policies.
* Work with site managers to implement safety improvements and enhance operational performance.
* Deliver training to operational teams, increasing awareness and proactive safety engagement.
* Investigate safety incidents, analyse root causes, and develop action plans to prevent recurrence.
* Collaborate with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and other regulatory bodies to ensure legal and environmental compliance.
* Support hazard studies such as HAZOP, SWIFT, and HAZID, working closely with engineering and operational teams.
What We're Looking For:

Essential:
* City & Guilds qualification or HNC in Chemical, Mechanical, or Production Engineering.
* NEBOSH Certificate in Process Safety Management (PSM).
* Minimum 3 years' experience in a manufacturing or production environment (process industries preferred).
* Knowledge of COMAH regulations and experience in hazard studies (HAZOP, SWIFT).
* Strong auditing experience and up-to-date knowledge of health, safety, and environmental legislation.
* Excellent communication skills with a proactive and self-motivated approach.

Desirable:
* NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety.
* Formal auditing qualification (internal auditing).
* Experience in LPG or similar process industries.
* Understanding of human reliability studies.
