Temporary Accommodation Move on support Worker
Hours: Mon-Fri - 09:00-17:00 - 37.50 hours a week
Assignment Length: 3 months
Pay: £14.40paye/£15.83paye or £18.20/£20.40 umbrella dependent on experience
Purpose of the role:
Providing move on support to people in temporary accommodation into longer term accommodation across London
Location of the role:
50% office based in the city and 50% Pan London
The temp accommodation can be in any London borough - Travel expenses are covered during working hours
Caseload: Support 15-20 low to medium support needs service users, including some people with immigration support needs - support is provided for 6-12 months. Support ends once they are in settled accommodation and no longer require support or have been linked in with alternative support providers.
The successful candidate will:
· Arrange and provide 1-1 key work sessions with the aim of increasing independence and advancing people into longer term accommodation
· Carrying out and updating needs and risks Assessments
· Accompanying clients to appointments
· Helping clients get ID if they do not have it already
· Assisting with benefits applications
· Ensuring all clients are receiving the benefits they are eligible for
To be successful in this role:
· Having sound knowledge on benefits, universal credit and right to work
· Possess great client interaction skills
· Possess experience working with other external agencies
· Need to be organised and be able to manage your own diary
· Must be IT literate, able to type up documents efficiently
· Possess housing knowledge and knowledge of the entitlement homeless clients have under different housing laws/ acts
· Possess experience and knowledge of the Homeless Reduction Act
