The Role The Private Client Partner will: Independently manage a diverse private client caseload, providing effective and strategic legal advice and representation. Oversee complex and high-value matters, including estate planning, probate, trusts, and inheritance tax issues. Work closely with senior leadership to drive business development and strengthen the department's professional connections. Mentor, supervise, and coach junior lawyers, trainees, and support staff to develop their expertise. Collaborate with other departments to ensure commercial optimisation and seamless client service. Uphold compliance standards in line with LEXCEL and ISO accreditation requirements. Key Responsibilities Deliver high-quality legal services to clients across all areas of private client work. Conduct thorough legal research to stay informed of developments in private client law. Build and maintain relationships with clients and referrers, including accountants, financial advisers, and care agencies. Actively contribute to business growth by identifying and pursuing new opportunities. Support the firm's strategic aims by working closely with leadership on commercial initiatives. Candidate Profile Essential Skills and Experience: A qualified Senior Associate Solicitor/Partner, Chartered Legal Executive, or STEP member. Extensive experience in wills, trusts, probate, elderly client matters, lasting powers of attorney, and inheritance tax planning. Proven ability to manage a demanding caseload with precision and attention to detail. A strong track record in business development and team management. Exceptional communication skills and the ability to build trust with a diverse client base. Desirable Attributes: Membership in STEP or The Association of Lifetime Lawyers. Experience in Court of Protection applications and managing patient affairs. Personal Qualities: Approachable, professional, and confident. Self-motivated with a collaborative, team-focused mindset.
