Job Summary:
Our Customer, one of the UK's leading business aviation firms, is seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Aircraft Purchaser to join an established procurement team. This role is responsible for acquiring new and pre-owned aircraft, negotiating purchase agreements, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and financial requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of aircraft valuation, market trends, and supplier relationships to optimize fleet acquisition and expansion.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Identify and evaluate aircraft purchase opportunities based on company needs, budget, and market availability.
2. Conduct market research to assess aircraft values, operational costs, and industry trends.
3. Negotiate purchase agreements, lease contracts, and financing options with aircraft manufacturers, brokers, and sellers.
4. Collaborate with internal teams, including finance, legal, and operations, to ensure smooth transactions.
5. Oversee due diligence, inspections, and regulatory compliance during the acquisition process.
6. Maintain relationships with key industry stakeholders, including OEMs, leasing companies, and financial institutions.
7. Monitor and manage procurement budgets, ensuring cost-effective purchasing decisions.
8. Keep records of transactions, contracts, and aircraft specifications for internal reporting.
9. Provide recommendations for fleet optimization and replacement strategies.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field.
2. Years of experience in aircraft procurement, sales, leasing, or related aviation roles.
3. Strong negotiation, financial analysis, and contract management skills.
4. Knowledge of aviation regulations (FAA, EASA) and aircraft financing structures.
5. Familiarity with aircraft technical specifications, valuation methods, and maintenance considerations.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for vendor and stakeholder engagement.
7. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple procurement projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Experience working with airlines, charter operators, or aircraft leasing companies.
2. Certifications in aviation procurement.
3. Proficiency in Aerotrack / Veryon or procurement software related to aircraft acquisition.
