Job Specification: Care Assistant (Residential) - Grade 3
Job Purpose
To provide high-quality care and support to residents in a residential care setting, promoting their dignity, independence, and well-being. The Care Assistant will work as part of a team to deliver person-centred care in line with individual care plans and organisational policies.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist residents with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
* Support residents with mobility and physical activities, ensuring their safety and comfort.
* Help with meal preparation and assist residents during mealtimes, ensuring nutritional needs are met.
* Monitor and report changes in residents’ health and well-being to senior staff.
* Maintain accurate records of care provided and contribute to care plan reviews.
* Encourage and support residents to participate in social and recreational activities.
* Promote a safe and clean environment, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
* Build positive relationships with residents, their families, and team members.
* Attend training and development sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
* Assist in the orientation and training of new staff and volunteers as needed.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
* Previous experience in a care role, preferably within a residential setting.
* Understanding of person-centred care principles.
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations within a care environment.
* Basic first aid and medication administration training (or willingness to undertake training).
