Your Role
The role of Assistant Merchandiser sits in our friendly and forward-thinking Merchandising department where you will support the Merchandising team to land the stock strategy, in line with the planning of the Business/Trading teams.
1. Deliver a seasonal range framework using sales & profit analysis and feed-in from internal and external parties to predict future opportunity.
2. Ensure the range is delivered to hit financial plans, adjusting as required as the critical path progresses and drives the team to deliver actions.
3. Monitor performance of range against the original plan through reforecasting and take action to drive additional opportunity and minimise risk.
4. Be accountable for your department plans as well as accuracy at all times across all systems and data points.
5. Work closely with Suppliers to share seasonal strategies and plans, communicating and updating regularly on business levels.
6. Present your plans to key decision makers in critical path meetings using reasoned arguments & rationale to deliver sign off of their plans.
7. Be accountable for your departments forecasting and resulting actions, striving for high accuracy and using all available data to inform views.
8. Along with the Buyers, is accountable for the progression of the range for your department, ensuring on-time, profitable ranges.
9. Working alongside Supply Chain and Planning team to ensure stock is bought into the business with consideration to cash flow and capacity.
10. Be accountable for stocks being in the right virtual warehouse/location to maximise availability and full price sell through.
11. Overseeing trading for the department, taking product actions into current and future seasons.
12. Optimise the current season though OTB management and proactively addressing terminal stock risk, determining the most profitable solutions.
13. Hold accountability for the Department WSSI, driving business-wide visibility of all KPIs (Sales, Margin, Stock, Markdown, Intake).
14. Be accountable for ensuring markdown items are identified and prices agreed within parameters.

From a technical and operational perspective, it would also be advantageous if you have:
24. Buying/Merchandising or Fashion related degree or work experience equivalent
25. Demonstrated ability and UK experience working as an Assistant Merchandiser or prior experience as a Trainee Merchandiser in a fashion business
26. Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills
27. High standard of commercial acumen and analytical skills with an ability to interpret facts and figures to identify risks and opportunities
28. Excellent planning and organisation skills with a high level of attention to detail alongside ability to plan and prioritise your own and team’s workload effectively
29. A genuine interest in fashion
30. Able to adapt, at speed were needed, to the needs of the business and the customer
31. Will have a proactive approach and is able to show initiative to seize opportunities, achieving better results for business benefit
32. Strong negotiation, presentation and influencing skills
Where will you be working?
This is a full time, onsite role based at ‘The Barn’ - this is Joules’ purpose built Head Office in Market Harborough, Leicestershire. Built in 2020, our team benefits from a creative, collaborative and open plan working environment that boasts comfort and exceptional design. It’s truly a great place to work.
We value your dedication and understand the importance of balance. This role is office based and typically requires 5 days a week working onsite, as we believe this is where we make the best decisions together. We do offer discretionary flexibility to support your needs and help you navigate life's demands as and when your work allows.
