Deputy Manager (Maternity Cover)
Salary - £35,000 Per Annum
Hours - 40 hours a week
Set in beautiful grounds, Head Start Crews Hill Day Nursery & Pre-school are seeking to appoint a Deputy Manager (Maternity Cover). As a Deputy Manager, you will be joining a nursery with ambitious plans, where the staff team are stable and happy and enthusiastic about creating amazing experiences for the children within our care. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated, enthusiastic Deputy Manager who can work closely with the manager and help with growing the team and also develop yourself. You should possess great communication skills and have a calm, approachable nature.
This position would suit an experienced Deputy Manager who has previously worked in a similar environment caring for children aged between 0 – 5 years and is looking for an exciting career opportunity.
As a Deputy Manager, you will:
* Ensure the safety and wellbeing of every child, staff, parent, and visitor at all times.
* Understand and ensure that the requirements of the statutory framework for the EYFS are met throughout the nursery.
* Assist in managing the acceptance and administration of medication and ensure care plans are thorough and up to date for children or staff with health conditions.
* Ensure that all children receive stimulating and purposeful experiences, environments, and resources that are appropriate to their age and stage of development.
* Promote respect and credibility for this position through effective communication skills, impartiality, and consistency.
* Inspire the staff team with creative ideas and new challenges with the aim to achieve outstanding practice.
* Maintain accurate records and accounts relating to children and staff on the EyMan system and on file.
* Undertake any other duties to ensure the smooth running of the nursery and the safety and wellbeing of children, staff, and families.
Requirements and Skills for Nursery Deputy Manager:
* Full and relevant Level 3 in Childcare qualification - Essential
* Over 1 year’s experience of working in Early Years - Essential
* Sound knowledge of the statutory framework for the EYFS and regulatory requirements - Essential
* Over 1 year’s experience of working in a management position - Desirable
* Level 5 qualification in Childcare and/or Management and Leadership - Desirable
* Experience of successfully passing an Ofsted inspection to good or outstanding - Desirable
