Lewisham Talking Therapies (IAPT) is looking for an enthusiastic, organised and adaptable Assistant Psychologist to support and enhance the psychological care of service users. The post holder will work within the overall framework of the team and they will be supported with regular supervision and line management with a qualified clinician. This opening is ideal for recent psychology graduates, planning a career in clinical psychology / psychological therapies and keen to develop experience in working with adults presenting with common mental health problems. This post is a busy one, with opportunities for clinical work. It is predominantly a data role;analysing and disseminating real-time information about therapist activity and client outcomes in order to improve service performance.
The post-holder will work within theLewisham Talking Therapies (LTT). The main service bases are Lewisham Town Hall in Catford, The Lind Clinic in Deptford, The Jenner Centre in Forest Hill and Baring Road, Grove Park. This is a borough of high social and psychological needs with considerable cultural diversity. The service sees clients with a wide range of common mental health problems and varying levels of severity.We operate a stepped care service model offering on-line CBT, guided self-help, individual therapy (CBT and a range of other approaches). We have close links with the Talking Therapies training courses at the Institute of Psychiatry and University College London (UCL).
1. Collect data from patient electronic records (IAPTus) and populate and manage the service database of discharged clients;
2. Ensure that discharges follow the appropriate care pathway, and that key data items have been completed correctly.
3. Undertake initial telephone assessment (triage) of new clients, recording the assessments and making decisions (with clinical supervision) on the clients’ treatment pathway
4. Provide accessible reports identifying patterns and trends
5. Manage database on clinicians’ activity in relation to targets, send monthly and quarterly reports to clinicians and supervisors, and an annual summary for appraisal. Respond to enquiries from clinicians.
6. Produce adhoc reports on request e.g. clients with repeated Silvercloud episodes, outcomes of Spanish-speaking clients, languages used
7. Provide support, on an adhoc basis, to audit projects e.g. BAME client access, outcomes for clients treated for PTSD
8. Monitorchanges on IAPTus system and provide update/reports to service managerson changes needed to data recording policy.
9. Assist therapists in designing spreadsheets and reporting arrangements.
10. Over time and with appropriate training and supervision, providing step 2 treatment for clients, starting with supported on-line therapy (Silvercloud) and progressing to Guided Self-Help.
11. Playing an active part in the team, through service meetings, skills training and team social events.

Purpose of this Job:
• - Provide real-time information about therapist activity and client outcomes to clinicians, supervisors and service managers in order to improve service performance.
• - Improve the accuracy and completeness of Lewisham Talking Therapies (IAPT) data recording in key areas (diagnosis, clustering, care pathway, patient satisfaction).
• - Assistin the development and implementation of data collection processesaroundoutcomes inspecific areas of interest
• - Develop and conduct data audits into specific areas of interest and concern
• - The role also allows the post holder to develop their clinical skills, beginning with step 2 assessments (telephone triage) and over time to provide step 2 treatment interventions to clients with anxiety and/or depression
Communications and Working Relationships:
The post holder will work closely with the Service Lead and other Clinical Leads on client outcomes and data quality. Good working relationships with all clinical staff are important, as the post holder will be asking for and providing potentially sensitive information to and from therapists
