If you're passionate about supporting people to maintain their independence and build a better future, then we currently have a part-time opportunity for you to join our dedicated team as a Housing Support Worker, providing person-centred support to individuals experiencing housing challenges within the Helensburgh area.
Driving license is preferred.
What we are looking for
A good support worker is responsive to individual needs, and your role will evolve to ensure the best outcomes for those you support. You will always have access to a manager and the wider team to discuss all aspects of the support you are providing. We are looking for someone who is:

Key Responsibilities:
* Providing practical support for tenancy management and independent living
* Managing time effectively with a flexible, adaptable approach
* Providing person-centred, trauma-informed support to individuals to sustain or secure suitable accommodation
* Supporting individuals to develop independent living skills, including budgeting, managing utilities, and understanding tenancy agreements
* Liaising with landlords, housing providers, local authorities, and other agencies to advocate for and support service users
* Assisting with benefit claims, appeals, and ensuring financial stability
* Supporting people through crisis situations, including the risk of eviction or loss of housing
* Encouraging engagement with physical and mental health services, recovery support, education, training, and employment opportunities
* Maintaining accurate and timely case notes, risk assessments, and support plans
* Working collaboratively with colleagues and external partners to deliver holistic support
* Promoting empowerment, choice, and independence in all aspects of support
Training and Qualifications:
Whilst experience is always welcome, full training (including SVQ qualifications) is provided alongside regular support and supervision from your Service Manager. The right values and motivation are essential; honesty, respect, empathy, and compassion are key skills that are required in people who join our teams.
Eligibility:
We welcome applications from any candidates already eligible to work in the UK or those that can apply for a visa granting permission to work in the UK (e.g. dependent visas, ancestry etc.) that do not require sponsorship from Carr Gomm. You will be asked to share proof of this prior to receiving any offer of employment. It is currently our policy not to offer sponsorship for prospective candidates.
