Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Drainage Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining effective drainage systems to manage water flow and prevent flooding. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, practical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
Duties
1. Attend domestic and commercial premises predominantly for insurance customers.
2. Conduct site assessments to evaluate drainage needs and identify potential issues.
3. Assemble and install drainage components using hand tools and power tools.
4. Collaborate with contractors and construction teams to ensure proper implementation of drainage solutions.
5. Perform regular maintenance checks on existing drainage systems, including cleaning and repairs.
6. Utilise mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to drainage systems.
7. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations during all engineering activities.
8. Maintain accurate records of project progress, materials used, and maintenance performed.
Requirements
1. Proven experience in a similar engineering role or related field.
2. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to use various hand tools and power tools effectively.
3. Familiarity with carpentry skills for assembling drainage structures as needed.
4. Basic maths skills for calculating measurements and material requirements.
5. Ability to perform heavy lifting as required on-site.
6. Experience in welding is advantageous for certain drainage installations.
7. A valid commercial driving licence is preferred for transporting equipment between sites.
8. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
9. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
