Position Overview As an Estimator at Markey Construction, you will play a pivotal role in our project development process. You will be responsible for producing precise and competitive cost estimates for a wide range of construction projects. Your expertise will be critical in securing contracts and ensuring the financial success of our endeavors. Key Responsibilities Analyze tender documents, specifications, and drawings to create detailed cost estimates. Collaborate closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information. Prepare and present comprehensive estimates to clients and senior management. Evaluate and negotiate quotes from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure cost-effectiveness. Monitor project costs during construction to ensure budget compliance and adjust estimates as needed. Assist in contract negotiations with clients and subcontractors. Maintain and update pricing databases in line with market trends and conditions. Participate in project reviews to assess the accuracy of estimates and identify improvement opportunities. Requirements Extensive experience in construction estimating. Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations. Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., ConQuest, Causeway, Bluebeam) and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent numerical and analytical skills with strong attention to detail. Effective communication and negotiation abilities, with a talent for building strong working relationships. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. A valid UK driving license. Additional Information Full-time role, Monday to Friday (40 hours per week, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM). Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 depending on experience.
