We are looking for a Therapy Assistant who wants to work within a team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists in a highly supportive acute hospital environment to implement and progress rehabilitation programmes enabling patients to be discharged from hospital as soon possible. The work is physically demanding but very rewarding.
You will receive on the job training based on a structured competency framework, and will be well supported by qualified Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists.
We are looking for candidates with good communication skills and the ability to motivate patients and who ideally have previous experience of working with people in an enabling or caring environment, although this is not essential.
The successful candidates will need to be a manual car driver (unless medically exempt) and be prepared to work in a flexible way including 7 day working.
This will be a rotational post within the Medicine, Surgery, Front door/ED and Long Term Conditions.
