Job Title: Store Manager, Ladies & Men’s Ready to Wear
Location: Selfridges, Manchester

We are looking for a commercially driven and inspirational Store Manager to lead the Ladies’ and Men’s Ready to Wear Departments in Selfridges, Manchester. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader, building a collaborative and motivated team while driving individual and collective success. This is a full-time role that requires flexibility, with shifts spanning Monday to Sunday, including early and late hours.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Performance
* Manage the store's sales performance and service standards.
* Maximise use of space and stock, focusing on sales optimisation and minimising waste.
* Ensure effective merchandise display with promotional materials reflecting current demand.
* Lead by example in client recruitment and development, fostering customer loyalty through CRM strategies.
* Achieve boutique capture rate and maintain mystery shopper satisfaction.
* Handle all situations with professionalism, efficiency, and a customer-first approach.
* Stay informed on competitor activities and adjust strategies to maintain a competitive edge.
* Oversee all back-office functions, including CRM, P&L, store activities, stock control, reports, and visual merchandising.
* Ensure accurate and timely stock replenishment of popular lines.
Cost Control & Stock Management
* Control stock loss within the store’s budget and conduct stock audits.
* Ensure store operations adhere to company systems and procedures to minimise losses.
Security
* Follow company procedures on theft prevention and security, reporting all suspected thefts to Loss Prevention.
* Ensure all staff are trained on company procedures, including cash handling, credit authorisation, and reporting of stock losses.
Employee Relations & Training
* Participate in the recruitment, training, and development of staff.
* Manage employee performance appraisals and identify growth opportunities.
* Communicate effectively to build a stable team and create a succession plan.
* Lead morning briefings, motivate the team to reach goals, and share best practices across the business.
Health & Safety
* Ensure compliance with Health and Safety policies for both staff and stakeholders within the concession.
Additional Responsibilities
* Maintain housekeeping and retail standards to create a welcoming environment for customers.
* Participate in stock takes outside of regular working hours to ensure smooth operations.
* Familiarise yourself with company policies, including till maintenance, store approvals, and event management.
* Represent the brand as an ambassador, adhering to luxury standards in grooming, makeup, and accessories.
Profile:
* Previous management experience in luxury retail is essential.
* Strong expertise in Ladies’ and Men’s Ready to Wear.
* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
* Exceptional customer service, commercial creativity, and fashion sense.
* Passionate about the brand and its collections.
* Strong knowledge of fashion trends.
* Fluency in a second language is preferred.
