Due to paternity leave, we are offering a 6 month locum Consultant Oncologist post. The role will involve covering the management of cancer patients from MDT referral through to treatment with Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy. This will include direct in-patient provision including 'consultant of the week' cover and also advise through ward referrals for patients admitted under other specialities, as well as Outpatient clinics. Person specification education and qualifications Essential criteria Full GMC registrationFRCR or eequivalent Desirable criteria Advanced Communications training experience and effectivness Essential criteria •Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of adult patients•Demonstrate use of evidence based practice•Demonstrate evidence of sub-specialty / specific tumour site training Desirable criteria •Willing and able to help develop oncology services Knowledge and skills Essential criteria •Willingness and ability to fulfil all key elements of the job description•Experience of / ability to supervise and train junior doctors•Ability to develop effective working relationships on an individual, multi-professional and team basis with all levels of staff Desirable criteria •Experience of service planning and developments•Clinical / educational supervisor training Personal Skills Essential criteria •Good leadership skills•Enthusiasm and ability to work under pressure Desirable criteria •Willingness to undertake additional professional responsibilities at local, regional and national levels
