We are seeking an Account Handler to support our team for the administration of clients' insurance requirements, including general enquiries, renewals, mid-term adjustments, acquiring quotations and invoicing of premiums. Taking care of our commercial clients, you will have a passion for providing excellent service to your clients.
Please note this is a full-time, permanent opportunity. You will be based in our Lakeside office and ideally be onsite for 3 days per week on average. There will be requirements to meet in our Maidstone office twice a month to meet with the wider team.
Overview:
* Assist in achieving Group/Division client retention targets by providing a world-class level of service.
* Collaborate optimally with the Account Executive to determine the most effective renewal strategy, attending client meetings as necessary and taking action on meeting points.
* Conduct market exercises to acquire the most competitive terms available in the industry.
* Present renewal terms to clients in a clear and compelling manner.
* Issue renewal documentation in strict accordance with contract certainty guidelines.
* Ensure that premiums are collected before the commencement of cover, adhering strictly to Howden procedures.
* Keep track of all pertinent details, communication, and paperwork using Acturis.
* Effectively use the diary system to maintain organization and prioritize tasks.
* Process adjustments promptly and efficiently, including notifying insurers, issuing revised documentation, and collecting any additional premium required.
* Actively cross-sell products from other Divisions, showcasing the full range of services offered by Howden Group.
Knowledge:
* Demonstrate a solid understanding of all the main classes of General Insurance, as well as the CII's Code of Ethics and GDPR regulations.
* Possess a minimum of 2 years' proven experience in managing SME or commercial clients, ensuring their insurance needs are met with the utmost professionalism and care.
Skills:
* Showcase a high level of technical insurance skills, which will be assessed through regular in-house testing.
* Exhibit outstanding accuracy and attention to detail, combined with the ability to efficiently process work.
* Possess strong prioritization skills, enabling you to meet deadlines and effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Display excellent client service skills, along with the ability to negotiate effectively and build positive relationships with clients.
* Communicate confidently and effectively, both orally and in writing.
* Demonstrate the ability to capture and analyze information from clients, responding appropriately and tailoring communications to their level of understanding.
* Possess strong persuasion and influencing skills, allowing you to effectively advocate for clients' needs and preferences.
Qualifications:
* GCSEs A-C in Maths & English.
* Cert CII certification is considered desirable, demonstrating your dedication to professional development.
* Familiarity with Acturis software is also desirable, although training can be provided for the right candidate.
