About the Role
Our client has enjoyed significant growth over the last three years across all areas of their UK teams and works to support their clients to better run their finance functions, understand their financial position and performance, and ensure they are compliant with changing accounting and tax legislation.
As a Corporate Tax Senior Manager, you will be responsible for providing corporate tax compliance services as part of a specialist team to a portfolio of clients with a strong focus on privately owned businesses. Additionally, you will help the Manchester office grow, building relationships and leading continuous improvement.
Role & Responsibilities for Corporate Tax Senior Manager
1. Building long-term relationships across a portfolio of clients which you will have responsibility for managing.
2. Helping lead the Manchester tax compliance team, providing guidance, coaching, and training to junior staff members to help them maximise their career opportunities.
3. Reviewing and approving corporation tax computations and tax accounting, as well as undertaking some tax assurance reviews. Involved in ad-hoc advisory work that flows from your client base.
4. Negotiating and raising timetables and fees and being responsible for WIP management on your portfolio of clients.
5. Proactively talking to clients about tax opportunities which may be relevant to them, and working with the tax partners and wider tax team to deliver on such work.
6. Being an active member of the Tax Team, ensuring procedures are rolled out and fully adopted in Manchester.
7. Tax compliance work will represent at least 50% of this role but there is flexibility to mix this with advisory work for up to 50% of the role for the right candidate.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
1. Extensive experience of working with a portfolio of clients to deliver on annual tax compliance and reporting requirements.
2. Demonstrate broad and strong technical tax knowledge and experience.
3. Works effectively as part of a larger team, proactively managing all team members.
4. Broad experience of managing the financials on clients, setting timetables, delivering on budgets, and negotiating fees with clients.
5. Experience of identifying opportunities for business development on tax clients (and ideally across other service lines).
6. Willingness to take on leadership roles both within Manchester and across the wider Tax team.
7. Responsible for assisting the development of more junior staff through coaching.
