Bookkeeper - Hybrid Working - Practice Experience Essential - Up To £30k
Think Trevor James is working with a firm in south Birmingham looking to add an experienced bookkeeper to their team.
The firm is a 5-partner firm with around 50 staff, big enough to have good quality work, small enough to be more than just a number to the firm.
The firm is well established with over 40 years in business with experience in all sectors, really partnering with their clients to help develop their businesses.
The firm offers both flexible hours and hybrid working once you are through a settling in period to ensure you have had the support to set you up for success.
The firm offers a stable environment with a low turnover of staff and roles rarely becoming available to join the team.
Role and Responsibilities
* Recording and maintaining bookkeeping records for a variety of clients
* Preparing and submitting VAT returns
* Ensuring records are complete for year-end accounts
* Knowledge of CIS is an advantage but not essential
* Knowledge of management accounts is an advantage but not essential
Candidate Attributes
* Minimum of 2 years bookkeeping experience, preferably in practice - working with several clients
* Proficient in using bookkeeping software such as Xero, Quickbooks Online, Sage
* Good knowledge of VAT and VAT Schemes
* Must have good communication skills both verbal and written
* Must be able to work on own initiative and have good organisational skills
* Attention to detail is important and working to strict deadlines
