Health and Safety Manager
Are you a Health and Safety Manager looking for a new permanent opportunity? Do you have recent experience working within Civil Engineering and / or utilities projects? Are you looking for an opportunity with a reputable civils contractor in the Kent area?

You will be responsible for:
Main Duties:
Carrying out audits and inspections on site where required and ensure non-conformance's are closed out
Project set up, pre-planning of works and safe systems of work
Development of project specific risk registers and assessments
Project specific training matrix development, delivery of training and Tool Box Talks upon request
Carrying out re-active monitoring including accident, incident & near miss investigations
Monitoring and assessing sub-contractors
Providing company inductions to all staff
Liaising with client and external HSEQ professionals
Assisting with writing Risk Assessments
Suggesting and implementing working procedures and methods
Monitoring environmental impacts
Ensuring health and safety, environmental, and quality standards are met on-site, within the offices and in the workshop environments
Ensuring you are up to date on Health, Safety and Environmental legislation and passing this valuable knowledge on
Investigating accidents, incidents, and near misses and follow up with a written report
Identifying potential hazards in future and current projects
Ensuring all staff understand safety procedures and legal requirements
Developing and reviewing safety policies and procedures
Advising and training staff on best working practicesSkills, Experience and Qualifications Required:
Proven experience in a similar role ideally within the civil engineering industry
A NEBOSH General and Construction certificate and ideally relevant IOSH status
CSCS card
Excellent organisational skills
A good technical knowledge across relevant legislation, compliance, and regulations
