Job Title: Management Accounts Assistant

About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Management Accounts Assistant to join our client's team based in Kettering. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic, multi-client environment, providing key financial insights and support to help clients make informed business decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Prepare timely and accurate periodic management reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, performance analyses, cashflow forecasts, and budget reviews.
2. Gather necessary data from clients and internal teams to ensure accurate month-end closures, meeting client expectations.
3. Conduct detailed reviews of financial data, including balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and validity, and providing feedback where required.
4. Develop client-focused, user-friendly reporting solutions using Business Intelligence tools.
5. Assist with the development of budgets and forecasts to provide clients with up-to-date, high-quality financial information.
6. Offer financial expertise and guidance to team members to ensure accurate production of financial data.
7. Communicate effectively with clients, providing clear financial insights, analysis, and explanations from management accounting packs, cashflow forecasts, and other business reports.
8. Create ad hoc reports and data analyses to support client decision-making.
9. Support the year-end process by reviewing data and supplying necessary information to compliance teams and external auditors.
10. Respond promptly to client queries, delivering exceptional customer service at all times.
11. Build and maintain strong client relationships, fostering trust and collaboration.
12. Participate in the team phone rota to ensure client support coverage.
Core Competencies:
1. Proven ability to manage multiple clients and balance competing deadlines.
2. Strong understanding of accounting processes and principles.
3. Skilled in interpreting profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
4. Excellent analytical abilities and attention to detail.
5. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
6. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with a range of accounting software.
7. A collaborative team player with a proactive approach.
Experience and Skills Requirements:
1. AAT qualified or currently studying towards ACCA/CIMA, or equivalent qualification by experience.
2. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, with the ability to analyse and manipulate complex datasets.
3. Proven experience with Business Intelligence tools.
4. Outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills.
