About the Role:
We are seeking a Procurement Manager with a focus on hard Facilities Management (FM) works and construction spend. This role involves overseeing procurement processes, managing contracts, and ensuring compliance with procurement legislation for a range of construction and FM-related goods and services. You will provide commercial advice, manage medium to high complexity tenders, and support client departments while promoting responsible procurement practices. Experience with NEC/JCT contracts is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
* Procurement & Contract Management: Lead procurement activities, ensuring compliance with governance, policies, and legislation. Manage medium to high complexity tenders and contracts, assisting clients with document preparation and evaluation, especially in the hard FM and construction sectors.
* Supplier Liaison: Manage supplier accounts, support junior staff with order management, and resolve queries related to delivery and invoicing.
* Contract Oversight: Monitor major contracts for compliance, implement corrective actions where necessary, and consult with client officers to ensure service requirements are met.
* Responsible Procurement: Ensure the implementation of environmental and social objectives within procurement activities and support contractors in adopting responsible procurement practices.
* Team Leadership: Manage junior staff, providing training and development, while fostering a cohesive and efficient team environment.
* Compliance & Confidentiality: Ensure adherence to GDPR, data protection laws, and confidentiality standards in all procurement processes.
Qualifications & Skills:
* Experience: Proven experience in drafting commercial and tender documents, managing contracts, and working with public sector procurement regulations. Experience in hard FM works and construction procurement is essential. NEC/JCT contract experience is highly desirable.
* Qualifications: Ideally pursuing or holding Level 5 membership with the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS).
* Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, excellent numeracy, and analytical abilities. Well-organized and able to handle conflicting priorities and deadlines.
* Knowledge: Understanding of contract documentation, particularly in construction and FM sectors, responsible procurement practices, customer care in public services, and relevant health & safety regulations. Familiarity with GDPR and data protection principles.

Salary & Benefits:
Salary:£48,000 - £55,000
