Update and implementation of GG Global Policy and procedures. Responsible for specification approval, allergen management and nutritional expertise. Responsible for implementing and executing an internal annual audit schedule to ensure that food, health and safety compliance procedures are implemented and monitored. Responsible for facilitating external customer and regulatory audits. Responsibility for overseeing all activity in the global Gate perform safety and compliance database. Performance management of a regional team of Food, Health and Safety Compliance Managers. To effectively work and communicate with the corporate global compliance team and regional management to continuously improve standards. Coordinating alignment with Corporate, European & UK regulations and GG standards. Food safety affairs liaison and regional subject matter expert. Main Duties and Responsibilities: Developing and implementation of safety compliance standards within the business and ensure minimum of legal compliance and compliance with corporate standards, aims and objectives. Internal Communications: communicating to, supporting and advising all levels of the business. Ensuring that the dissemination of information is appropriate, factual and timely to support a positive and active decision-making process. External Communications: liaising with legal departments, legislative authorities, third parties and customers. Conduct investigations and ensure that necessary actions are taken and communicated for safety compliance, including customer complaints, etc. Auditing of compliance internal procedures and external suppliers for compliance against safety management systems. Proactive trend analysis of audit findings / safety investigation findings to minimise re-occurrence. Develop and facilitate implementation of HACCP systems and other safety information and documentation. Supporting unit activities and facilitating a best practice approach to problem solving and improvement initiatives. Attending and leading meetings, both internal and external to the organisation. Implementing and maintaining microbiological sampling programs. Conducting presentations and participating in projects. Goal setting and performance reviews of direct reports. Ensuring a consistency of approach and performance. Coaching, development and training both of individuals and teams. Supporting other areas of the business when required – e.g. food services and rail. Ensure that employees and managers are fully trained / coached and developed where required. Managing food information systems. Support and technical input for customer tenders and visits. Significant travel within the UKI. Be part of the on-call process for out of hours issues. Qualifications Education: Educated to a minimum degree level or equivalent in a Food Safety or related discipline in the industry. Professional qualification in Food Technology and Food Safety Management. Professional qualification in Health and Safety is desirable (NEBOSH or Equivalent). Work Experience: Extensive experience in developing, implementing, monitoring and maintaining of Quality management systems in the food industry Minimum of five years management experience. Other informaton: All applicants must have the right to work in the UK, undertake a CRC (Criminal Record Check) and provide 5 years of checkable referencing history. For anytime spent outside the UK exceeding 6 months, you must be able to provide a CRC (Criminal Record Check) for that country.
