Job Description
* Teach curriculum offered in CACREP-accredited Master of Science Clinical Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling degree programs and the Addictions Counseling Certificate program.
* Serve as Addictions Counseling Certificate Program coordinator.
* Implement a process for student selection and admission into the Addictions Counseling Certificate Program.
* Assume a leadership role in the planning, development, and delivery of the Addictions Counseling Certificate Program, including marketing and recruitment of students.
* Design and deliver courses proficiently through in-person, hybrid, hyflex, and online options using various technologies commensurate with department and university needs.
* Engage in scholarly research or creative achievement to enhance knowledge in counseling and related fields.
* Provide evidence of continuing preparation and study in the field to enhance teaching and research abilities.
* Contribute to student growth and development through student advising, supervision, and mentorship.
* Advise and mentor Addictions Counseling Certificate program post-baccalaureate students and master’s students as needed.
* Supervise Addictions Counseling Certificate Program student practicum.
* Support Winona State University's mission to enhance the intellectual, social, cultural and economic vitality of the people and communities we serve.
* Provide service to the university and community including the program, department, college, university, and greater community.
* Support department functioning through shared work responsibilities, such as assistance with CACREP accreditation.
* Serve as the Counselor Education Department contact person and program coordinator for the MN Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) credentialing program.
Minimum Qualifications
* Earned doctorate or ABD in Counselor Education from a CACREP-accredited program.
* Two (2) years of demonstrated success as a licensed addictions counselor, clinical mental health counselor, and/or school counselor.
* Demonstrated commitment to quality teaching.
* Interest in addictions or dual diagnosis.
Preferred Qualification
* Licensure-eligible as a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC).
* Skills/ability to integrate technology to enhance learning and teaching.
* Experience with implementation of CACREP standards and accreditation.
* Graduate level teaching experience in Counselor Education.
* Well-developed interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
* Competency in using technology skills in the classroom for course delivery.
* Experience with adult learning and/or returning students.
* Demonstrated scholarly work related to multicultural social justice competency development, counseling diverse populations, or inclusive practices.
