The Opportunity: The University’s Centre for Pesticide Suicide Prevention (CPSP) is seeking a dedicated and skilled Agriculture and Regulatory Advisor with specialised expertise in pesticide management for the agricultural sector. This role is central to our global health and pesticide regulation initiatives, focusing on identifying and reducing the use of highly hazardous pesticides (HHPs) associated with pesticide self-harm in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in pesticide management, demonstrating the ability to work independently while taking on significant responsibilities. You will play a key role in shaping national pesticide regulations, contributing to policy development in collaboration with the World Health Organisation, other UN agencies, and regional regulatory bodies. This post is full-time (35 hours per week). We are open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working. The salary for this post is £40,497 to £48,149 per annum (for start date in May 2025). Your skills and attributes for success: Higher Degree (Masters, PhD) in a relevant subject with a broad range of professional experience in a similar or related role. Experience with demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and work independently (Desirable). Strong communication skills in English, with experience in drafting policy and technical reports. Experience of working in the field of agricultural pest and pesticide management Experience working in low-income regions and with international organisations.
