Our client is looking to recruit a Civil Design Engineer to work in their Manchester office. This role will include being in a medium sized team and liaising with clients and external agencies.
You will need to have a degree level in Civil Engineering or the equivalent with at least 3 years post grad experience. Experience in residential, commercial, and industrial developments from conception to technical approval is required.

The role:
* Pre-purchase feasibility studies and resolution of planning conditions including drainage feasibility and highways considerations.
* Flood risk assessments (flood modelling undertaken by in-house team).
* Detailed drawings and calculations to technical approval for adoptable highways and drainage to Building Control, NHBC, S278, S38, S104, etc.
* Preparation of 3D ground models for volume calculations, cut and fill exercises, vertical road profiles, etc.
* Liaise with clients and external agencies such as Environment Agency, Local Highway Authorities, and Water Authorities.
* Design work on projects for water and wastewater authorities.
* As appropriate, represent JNP Group at meetings, public exhibitions, planning committees, and public inquiries when required, and undertake site inspections.
* Contribute to project management and control suitable projects.
* Support the training and professional development of team members.
* Exercise due care and diligence in all aspects of engineering design and detailing.
What you need to succeed:
* Educated to a minimum Degree level in Civil Engineering, or equivalent
* Chartered Engineer status, or approaching, with relevant professional institution
* Experience in managing and leading client relationships, reporting on progress, and managing work within budget and to programme
* Able to check and sign off technical design work
* Experience in the planning, design, and construction of residential, commercial, and industrial developments from conception to technical approval
* Leading on a range of projects or acting as technical discipline lead for larger projects
* Experience in working in collaborative teams with clients, contractors, external design team members, local authorities, statutory bodies, and other third parties
* Leading and mentoring a small team of engineers and technicians located in the local office or other offices across the country.
