My client are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team at a well-established building contractor based in Bury. The role involves working on a variety of building and civil engineering projects, supporting the Senior Quantity Surveyor and project teams in delivering projects on time, within budget, and in line with quality standards. Key Responsibilities: Cost Estimation and Budgeting Procurement and Subcontractor Management Contract Administration Site Visits and Measurement Financial Reporting Risk Management & Dispute Resolution Compliance and Documentation Skills and Qualifications: A degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field. At least 1-2 years of experience working in a quantity surveying role within the building or civil engineering sectors. Experience with cost management, procurement, and contract administration on construction projects is preferred. Experience with both building and civil engineering projects is highly advantageous. Strong understanding of construction contracts (e.g., JCT, NEC), procurement processes, and cost estimation. Proficiency in using quantity surveying software, such as CostX, Bluebeam, or similar, is a plus. Good working knowledge of MS Office applications, especially Excel for cost reporting and financial management. Valid CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card would be advantageous. A full UK driving license is preferred as the role may require occasional travel to site locations. Working Conditions: Full-time, permanent position based at the company’s office in Bury.
