About the role:
We operate in a unique, challenging and complex operating environment. The provision of high-quality data and intelligence, effectively interpreted and communicated to key stakeholders is essential to support us in the continuous improvement of our service.
We are looking to appoint a skilled Data Intelligence Engineer into the Brigade’s Risk and Performance Unit. You will play a lead role in developing data infrastructure to support intelligence reporting relating to our Risk Management, Performance Management and Intelligence Frameworks that support the Brigade's planning, monitoring, targeting and evaluation services.
The successful candidate will be solely responsible for the strategic development and technical creation of Brigade performance reporting infrastructure through use of Power BI. You will additionally be responsible for training a range of uniformed and non-uniformed staff in the use, maintenance and development of Power BI dashboards and providing overarching project management.
Required skills/experience:
Our ideal candidate is passionate about the use of data and intelligence to support the delivery of our service and understands the importance of data that is robust and reliable in order to inform front line and strategic decision making.
You will be highly numerate, with an eye for detail, exceptional analytical and IT skills and the technical ability to work with a variety of large datasets. You must be able to develop innovative solutions to complex issues and requests and effectively present the resulting outcomes in a range of differing formats. You must be resilient and be able to prioritise and manage competing priorities and workloads to the required standard whilst also supporting others to meet the demands of the unit in the delivery of work in accordance with stringent deadlines.
You will need excellent communication skills and be capable of building good working relationships with colleagues, service managers and other stakeholders. A positive and flexible approach to working independently and as part of a small team is essential.
