Senior HVAC Engineer
Acceptable Location(s): Hinton House, Risley, Warrington & some home working. There will be a need to carry out walkdowns and plant visits.
Project Description:
The HVAC and Piping categories focus on issues relating to the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning of plants and delivery of piped services to buildings across the site. Due to the sensitive nature of the project, further details will be provided on request.
Role Description:
The candidate will be responsible for supporting the HVAC Categorised Projects and will be required to assist the HVAC Principal Engineer / SL RE in the delivery of various HVAC projects. The role will involve the production and checking of engineering deliverables to support design development through concept and preliminary phases, into detail design, and assistance during installation and commissioning borne design queries.
Responsibilities:
1. Support the project in all aspects of HVAC specifically with the design of new and existing systems.
2. Work with a small integrated design team designing packages against milestones.
3. Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
4. Contribute to the production of multi-discipline design documents such as Project Requirement Documents, Basis of Design, Project Verification Plans, Quality Plans, and Design Justification Reports.
5. Determine project requirements independently.
6. Review and check design documentation and piping deliverables from other engineers.
7. Produce reports and documentation to comply with CDM.
8. Manage content of schedules.
Essential Experience:
1. Demonstrated experience in a similar role or environment having direct influence over the development of HVAC deliverables.
2. Experience of working within a highly regulated industry, preferably gained within the nuclear industry.
3. Degree in mechanical engineering or Building Services Engineering with relevant HVAC experience.
4. Knowledge and experience of UK regulations is essential.
5. Good proficiency in Microsoft packages (Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
6. Competent report writing skills.
7. Comfortable working under time and cost constraints.
Desirable:
1. Ability to produce HVAC specific documentation such as technical and engineering reports, mechanical drawings, and building service calculations.
2. Knowledge of estimating hours for scope changes or additional works.
3. Ideally chartered or working towards chartership.
4. Knowledge of Nuclear standards and site procedures.
Design Tools Experience:
1. MS Office applications
2. Hevacomp/IESVE (not essential)
3. AutoCAD
4. Revit/Inventor (advantageous)
5. MathCAD
Security Clearance Requirements:
1. Preferred: Currently holds P1/P4 pass and SC Clearance.
2. Essential: Ability to obtain P1 or P4 Pass.
3. Essential: Ability to obtain SC clearance within a reasonable period.
