OPPORTUNITIES IN SPECIALIST PALLIATIVE CARE
AT ST MARGARET OF SCOTLAND HOSPICE
We are delighted to offer two new opportunities at St Margaret of Scotland Hospice, working alongside our Trustees, senior management, and multidisciplinary clinical team to provide high-quality, patient-centred palliative care to the people of the West of Scotland.
We are recruiting for two key positions: Medical Director and Consultant in Specialist Palliative Medicine. The Medical Director position requires an experienced Consultant who would be suitable to hold the post, while we welcome applications from both experienced and recently qualified Consultants for the Consultant role. Candidates for both positions must be GMC registered in Palliative Medicine.
As part of our team, you will be employed by St Margaret of Scotland Hospice while holding an Honorary contract with NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.
As the Consultant in Palliative Medicine, you will play a pivotal role in delivering expert clinical care, supporting patients with complex palliative care needs, and contributing to service development. You will provide specialist palliative care input across all clinical services at the Hospice and lead and support a multidisciplinary team approach. Working alongside medical, nursing and allied health professionals, you will offer expert advice and support to primary and secondary care colleagues in symptom management and end-of-life care. There will be opportunities to contribute to education and training for healthcare professionals, including medical students and trainees and participate in clinical governance, service improvement initiatives, and strategic Hospice planning.
Applicants for the Consultant in Palliative Medicine role must demonstrate the ability and passion to ensure the delivery of high standards of individualised care, compassion, and bereavement support in a Hospice setting. The Consultant in Palliative Medicine will also evidence excellent leadership, communication, and collaborative working skills.
