We are currently looking to recruit a Site EHS Specialist at our Taw Valley Creamery in Devon, which is in the heart of one of the biggest milk pools in the UK. Our 24/7 site produces both branded & own cheddars including our award-winning Tickler and BOB. Over the next 2 years, project Baldur will invest EUR 210m in brand new state-of-the-art mozzarella technology on site. This will double the number of colleagues working on site to circa 200 people.
How will you make an impact?
* Contributes to a healthy, inclusive, and safe working environment.
* Ensures compliance with Arla Foods’ standards, policies, applicable law, and Health, Safety & Food safety procedures.
* Contributes to quality/food safety in own area of responsibility, and promotes a quality/food safety mindset.
* Assists in the development of site-specific policies and objectives.
* Supports EHS management systems.
* Secures training of relevant staff in EHS.
* Coordinates maintenance of site EHS improvement plans.
* Liaises with local authorities and participates in external audits.
* Collects, monitors, evaluates, and provides relevant reports to site and business group management as applicable.
* Acts as gatekeeper on new knowledge within EHS.
* Contributes to digital transformation, works with data-driven decision-making, and promotes a digital mindset within the team.
* Contributes to process confirmation to support the APS transformation.
* Coaches teams and individuals within the quality function at the site.
* Liaises with customers regarding reporting, investigating issues, complaints, queries, and coordinating customer audits to enhance customer satisfaction.
What do you need to succeed?
The successful candidate will have extensive relevant work experience in a related discipline as well as a relevant technical or degree qualification. An environmental qualification such as a Nebosh certificate in Environmental management or equivalent is required.
