Accountancy Recruit is partnering with a global software technology provider in the recruitment of an Assistant Accountant, for the global head office based in Bury St Edmunds. The business is experiencing growth, and is a fast paced, busy environment, with a collaborative team culture. Reporting into the Group Finance Manager, the purpose of this role is to maintain the day-to-day financial records and transactions using QuickBooks. Support the Sales Team with contract management and maintain the fixed asset register. Key Responsibilities New customers set up on all relevant systems (Quickbooks, Maxio, Hubspot, etc.) Sales ledger: raising approx. 300 invoices monthly and Issuing customer statements Credit control for the UK and Europe Dealing with customer queries Purchase ledger; processing approx. 6-700 invoices monthly for the UK and US. Coding and entering supplier invoices- ensuring invoices are correctly authorised before processing Dealing with supplier queries Preparing payment runs Monitor the Finance email box Reconciling credit and debit card (UK&US) Petty cash reconciliation Processing staff expenses and filing of finance documents and contracts Matching expenses with projects (launches, conferences etc.) Assist with audit Management of the fixed asset and subscriptions register Responsible for ensuring IT and staff equipment have asset tags and that asset information is up to date in the staff onboarding data Work with line manager and HR to ensure new starters have correct equipment Matching payments Ad hoc finance tasks required, and other analysis as requested Holiday cover for other finance team members Provide support for internal teams: Contract management for the sales team Work with the CEO, CFO and Group Finance Manager in monitoring and renewal of utility contracts; ensuring competitive rates Requirements & Skills AAT, CIMA, or ACCA studier would be an advantage. Experience of Goggle Sheets would be an advantage, confident in Excel and accounting software Excellent time management with proven attention to detail Experience with the administration of a contract end to end process would be an advantage Confident to highlight issues found within a process Experienced and comfortable working in a small finance/operations team Able to work as a team player Demonstrate a natural curiosity, ability to simplify the complex and a desire to learn and succeed Remuneration Salary £30-35,000 pa Study support Private Health Insurance for UK and US Access to Mental Health First Aiders Flexible and hybrid working – 3 days in the office, 2 days remote Hours: Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week – flexible times.
